Another day of shooting and another day of great footage. We shot the 2nd half of scene two today as well as scene three. We had shots in a car, in a trunk, and some nice hand held running shots. Here are some pics from the last two days. I can’t wait to cut these two new scenes. We have three more days scheduled and we will be done.
Other news: I stayed up until 2:30 am running tests on a few things we were having snags with and solved a few of our problems. First, I was unsuccessful in making a 24p dvd from Canopus Procoder, but was able to in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and it looked great. Even though in the past the Mainconcept encoder hasn’t been that good, the final result was very nice. So this was a problem I had with the Vampire Movie. The second issue was encoding the internet movies. I was told that I needed to get a 30min long movie to be under 100megs. The first few renders I did were very crappy quality. But after a few tests I was able to make a custom preset that gave great results. At the moment I am rendering out a full size, 720×480 movie using the same preset. If we can keep it under 100megs then we will use it since it will be a larger movie to watch. The only problem left unsolved is hosting. We need some serious bandwidth and storage. We meet with a guy tomorrow to go over what they have to offer. We’ll see.
