I don’t understand how one project can have so many mistakes involved in it’s completion. We must have rendered out 3 or 4 different times trying to get a dvd outputted with no luck getting a good one. Finally we moved the hard drives over to my Dell Notebook and it did the trick. Why a dual xeon with 2 gigs of ram can’t do what a 2.6 ghz mobile processor with 512mbs can. What ever it may have been, frustration is all it caused; for me and Russell. Anyways, finally got a good render and made 4 copies today. 1 will be going out to LGF and one to Harkins. Only good things can come from this.

That’s right. After three grueling weeks of working around the clock, the movie is complete. We will be rendering out the dvd today and sending it off to Lions Gate Films; and they are so ready for it too. I’ll post about the outcome of the dvd and possible showings in local theaters.

All the sound effects are all leveled out, music is layed down, and we watched it from start to finish. I made a list of things to fix and we should be done this week. FINALLY!!
As stated before, the boys from The Broken , Dan Huard and Kevin Rose have come up with a new show called Systm and it will be released tonight at 8pm Pacific time. Well both movies are coming to a wrap. The Rookie is being rendered as I type for a full web streaming test. However it took 18 hours to render the first pass, and there’s one more pass to go. So that’s probably going to take another 16+ hours. Vampire Slayers has all the music laid down and we’re half way done with adjusting the levels of the sound effects and dialogue. The last couple of days have been pretty grueling, but we’re getting it done. Slayers looks a lot better now that all the elements have come together. It looks a lot better than New Breed’s last movie, but still has a lot of things that could have been done better. But the whole process has been a learning experience. Which brings us to The Rookie. This movie is 10 times better than slayers and it only took us 14 days to do it, start to finish; and didn’t cost us anything but our own lunches. There were a few things we still missed but each movie gets better and better, and what we learn from each movie we bring to the next one to make it that much sweeter of a flick. It only gets better from here.
