So we have shot three days of the Rookie and all three days are edited already. I’ve been using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 to cut it as well as Vampire Slayers. I’m still trying to determine if I should continue using it or switch to Avid. I just haven’t found a reason thus far why Avid is better. I mean there has to be a reason somewhere, otherwise it wouldn’t be the most popular NLE. If anyone knows where it is better, please let me know. My company is prepared to buy a full suite or video collection, I just have to tell them which one. As of right now it’s looking like the Adobe Video Collection for both price and for what we are doing at the moment. But if Avid really is over all better or better in a few points that count, then we will get it instead. As for the interface and usability, Avid and Premiere are almost identical. So there would have to be something really big in Avid to make me switch; I’ve been using Premiere for years. I’m just stoked to be editing these flicks period.
