XviD becomes the official codec of CRC Pictures

After doing my homework and tons of rendering I have decided to make XviD my Codec of choice. I have always used Divx and loved it but the fact that XviD is an open source encoder, makes it that much more appealing. This means people are playing with the code trying to make it better. Kind of feels like something on indie would use. So you will need to install the latest version to watch the videos I put on this site. I will provide a link as soon as I start posting some of my work.

Music Video

I finally got a chance to shoot a music video. I’m very stoked and can’t wait to start cutting it. It’s for an up and coming hip hop artist called “The Don”. The song is called “Put it in the Middle”. Unfortunately no one had a camera for behind the scenes photos other than my camera phone. I’ll keep everyone updated with the status of it as it progresses.

Man in Black begins production

That’s right, #2 is under way. We started filming last night around 11:00 pm and wrapped up at 2:00 am. 42 shots in 3 hours, impressive. For this movie we are going for a real jumpy feel, much like “The Bourne Identity” fight scenes. The story is about a man, the man, who goes on a killing spree after his best friend is brutally murdered. He goes and kills every man that works for the big boss man that had his friend killed. Tons of action to go around. We are planning on a 7 day shoot again broken up over the next two weeks. We’ll capture the footage we shot last night today and start choppin it up. Here are some photos taken on set.

Systm Ep2

Man in Black

We started scouting locations for our next 30min movie today entitled “The Man in Black”. We’ve been watching a lot of action movies the past few days and been studding the fight scenes to really get down the different camera angles and tricks that many popular directors like to use. I’m very excited to start working on this.

Also I was given my shooting schedule for our next corporate job. The movie and the corporate stuff are going to run along side each other. Looks like it’s going to get rough here real quick. More info to come.

Pre-Production

I started writing a script today for my next movie. Haven’t decided if I will make it a 30min one for new breed cinema, or a feature. I guess it will depend on how much I can write. All I can say at the moment is it’s going to be an action/comedy with a lot of geeky tech stuff involved. I would love to get a certain former employee of G4 involved if he’s interested…..

Production update

Well we shot a promo for Pussy Cat Lounge this week and I have already edited it and am making the dvd tomorrow. I shot Fashion High on Sunday. And we have delivered Vampire Slayers to LGF and Harkins.

As for Pre-pro, Russell has started the shot list for the next 30 min movie, “The Man in Black”. We should start shooting that in two weeks.
