Update

No word on Crown King thus far. All we can do is wait for it to reach the right hands. In the mean time I have cut a new trailer for Slayers. This one is more comedic. You can find it at the My Work page.

This week…

I am rendering out CK with out the screener title running across it, I am cutting a new Slayers trailer to show the humor in it. I will also be changing the title of the movie to it’s original title “Blue Collar, Ass kicking, Vampire Slayers”. This is an action-comedy and with a name like Vampire Slayers it seems too much like a straight horror movie, and it’s not. So we think the original title fits better. Once I put the new titles in I’ll have to re-render that as well. After that I start the camera tests for the next picture. It’s going to be a long road to the next one, but we have two lined up and depending on how much money we raise will determine which one we do. One goes straight to dvd, the other goes theatrical. Only time will tell.

The Waiting Game Begins

We’re back from LA and man, what a trip. We were there for a week and it was jammed pack with meetings. We met tons of great people and got lots of great feed back. While we were there we passed out 10 copies of the film and had 3 different screening of it. The general consensus was the same: production value was incredible, the music was great; however it was all shot during the day and the acting wasn’t that good. Both of which could have been solved with money. We couldn’t afford a generator and a grip truck to shoot scenes at night and we couldn’t afford to pay for actors. That’s what happens when an investor backs out at the last minute. But we have been told by multiple people that it is sellable, so that’s good. As for Vampire Slayers, everyone that is looking at it says that it doesn’t fit into horror and that it’s more of an action/comedy. With that being said we are changing the name back to it’s original and will start marketing it that way.

I want to say a big thanks to John Jennings and his girl friend Shawna for letting us stay with them and for the great hospitality. John also introduced us to some really great people that all helped us out while we were there which in turn set us up with a lot more people to meet. Thanks again.

A Work in Progress….

I’ve been working on this template for a while now, but the movie came first and so it got put on the back burner. I like this a lot better with two sidebars. Now everything isn’t running along one side. I still have a lot more stuff to add so be sure to check back in a few days for more changes. Also let me know if something isn’t working or if something doesn’t look right. It’s a work in progress.

In the Can….

Finished the movie, finished the behind the scenes movie, and am making dvds of both. It’s been a wild ride and I didn’t think it was going to be as good as it is with no pre-production. Just goes to show with a great team, anything is possible. As said before, we head to LA this weekend with 10 copies to hand out. I’ll update everyone once I get back. Be sure to check out the moblog for photos while I’m there.
