Smash the Tones!!!

All you need is to have the internet on your phone and you too can turn an MP3 into a ring tone, FREE! This great site allows you to send MP3’s right to your phone. Now there are two ways of doing it. You can either be a free member and wait in line or you can pay a membership fee and get them instantly. I am a free member at the time being and have waited anywhere from 5 mins to 5 hours. It’s kind of weird; but so worth it. This site used to be called Smash the Tones and was first brought to my attention by the lovely Miss Sarah Lane on Attack of the Show. Since then they have switched owners and changed up their format. Still gets the job done, just have to create a login now. Check it out sometime.

Update 1.1

Another thanks goes to Ze Mia for pointing me to a great Word Press Plug-ins site. From here I was able to add a bunch of great plug-ins.

For starters, which is a total rip-off of her site, a users online counter. But to spice it up a bit I am displaying who is online. Based on your ip address it will display the name you used to make your last comment. If you have never left a comment then it will just say guest. You can also click on the users name to see what comments he or she has left.

Second, site stats based on Word Press. There is a link to these stats are on the “around here Nav. These stats display stuff like most users online, polls, how many posts, how many comments, top 10 last posts, top 10 last comments, users with the most comments, etc. I like knowing this kind of stuff.

Third, It now displays how many times a post has been viewed. It starts everything off at 0. Also a rating system for each post. This is just a way for people to rate the post and give people an idea on how much they liked or disliked the post.

And finally, an integrated poll system. I was using Bravenet but they started sending pop ups to the site, and I won’t be having any of that. Each week or so there will be a new poll, something I want to know, need to know, or just something humorous.

Now granted, all of this stuff is as new to me as it is to all of you. So if something isn’t working right, or you can’t figure something out, let me know. Post a comment here and be known.

iPod Poll Results

A few weeks ago I emailed everyone in my contact book and posted on my Moblog about a poll that I was posting asking everyone “What iPod are you?” After being up for about 3 weeks I had a total of 44 votes and the results were not what I expected. 16 or 36% said that they didn’t even own an iPod, 12 or 27% said that they were sticking to what they had and not upgrading to the video iPod, 6 or 14% said that they had a music only iPod but planed on upgrading within the next 12 months, and only 10 or 23% said they already owned a video iPod. I was expecting a lot more. But they gives me a general idea of where people, or at least most of the people I know sit with their iPods. I should be shooting the first episode of the new series here in a week or so. But with the way my schedule has been the past few weeks there is no telling what will happen. I am just getting antsy to start working on something again.

Got Google?

Google has become a staple in our everyday lives; in more ways than one. They have a huge list of products and services available for you to use and most people don’t even know about them. Here is a list I found, and there are some things on here that I didn’t even know about. Enjoy.

Top 5 Things You Should Never Buy

“This is a nice roundup of the most-common things to avoid buying next time you walk into a Best Buy. Some of it may be obvious, but most of us have bought into at least one of these (c’mon, admit it).”

This was such a great list I had to post it. And so very true.

Mobile Issues

So Sierra is walking around in her new dress and I want to take a pic and send it to my Moblog right? So I take it, send it, check back on the site a few minutes later and, no pic. WTF? I look at the phone, it says that it sent. So I resent it. Moments later, still nothing. So then I try sending it to my gmail account. Still nothing. After about 15 mins of trial and error I call T-Mobile. They give ask me all the normal stuff in which I reply with have already tried that or no that didn’t work. After another 30 mins with them, I finally just say “I’ll figure it out”. Well I start talking to some people and find out that two other T-Mobile users are having the same issues. We can send picture messages to phones, we can send text messages to email address, but can’t send picture messages to email address. So I call T-mo back and after another 30 mins they can’t figure it out and tell me that there must be something delaying them. You think? So I’m sure my Moblog will get like 10 entries of the same pic all at once sometime today; hopefully. And thanks to Eric the cheese man and Ze Mia for helping me prove my theory.

And we’re back

So the boys at Binary Moon Studios were having some issues with their servers this last week. End result was switching servers all together. But we are all back to normal and should have smooth surfing from here. Thanks guys.
