Yesterday, Disney announced details of the plan. Beginning in May, the company will begin a two-month trial that will make four popular shows from its ABC network � “Desperate Housewives,” “Lost,” “Commander in Chief” and “Alias” � available for free viewing online the day after they are broadcast.

You know, there are programs that will download a streaming video, once it’s downloaded you can skip the ads, think of it as software tivo.
Actually, if you think about it… unskippable ads is a tradeoff for a service that ABC is offering for free. For the tivo generation who is used to skipping ads, its an inconvience. But for those who don’t, this could really benefit them.
Actually, given how “Commander in Chief” has tanked in the ratings recently, ABC may consider a different show.
