Google adwords test

Just testing something with my google ads so don’t mind them poping up around the site in weird places.

Gmail and Gtalk

A while ago I had posted about Google’s list of services and tools they offer –>Here. The one that I use most would be Gmail. It’s google’s equivilant to yahoo mail or hotmail. They currently give you like 2.6 gigs of space which is huge. Plus you are able to archive your mail and get them out of your inbox and then you can search through your mail later on. Their moto is “never throw anything away”. Of course you can set it up with outlook and do your mail through it. But the best part, and which brings me to the second half of this post, is that Google’s chat program Gtalk is embedded in the mail window and allows you to chat with people who are on Gtalk in your web browser. This is a great feature if you are on a work computer and can’t install stuff like the Gtalk messenger. Gtalk is a very simple messenger. It takes a lot of the best features from other messengers and puts them in here. For example, when you get a msg it pops up in the bottom right, but not just the first one, all of them until you open the window. You also get to put a profile pic next your name that shows up next to your name in the contacts list, as well as next to your name in chat. Another great feature, following the great Google path, you are able to save your chats and search them as well. The only thing that is special and not necceseraly a great one is you must have a gmail account to use it. So it’s good because we all know everyones email address and we can all talk using our mail window if we wanted to, but YOU MUST HAVE A GMAIL ACCOUNT. So it takes people that don’t have one, don’t want one out of the picture. How do i get one you may ask? Well you must be invited from someone who has one already, everyone gets 100 invites.

The reason for this post is basicaly tell everyone about gmail and gtalk and the usfulness of the two together. If anyone is looking for a new email address or new provider and would like an invite to gmail, comment here or email me. I have 100 to give out. There are already a number of people on gmail and gtalk waiting for you.

One more thing about Flickr…

One last thing I forgot to mention about Flickr, a really sweet feature that lets you make pictures private to certain members on your contact list. So you can post anything you want. It’s great, trust me. Plus as far as I know there is no limits on language either. So have fun with that.

I figured I would take this opportunity to mention a new place I have been hangin out these days. It’s not really a new place on the web but new place for me. It’s called Flickr and it’s owned by Yahoo. You can join for free or pay a very low price of $24.95 a year for a pro account. The biggest difference is the storage and bandwidth each month. I think the pro accounts are unlimited and have 2 gigs of upload a month vs the 20 megs on the free account.
It’s very similar to Text America in the fact that it is a place to display your photos and share them with a great community. But it expands on that in so many ways. Once you are logged in, your homepage displays your images, your contacts images, and the last 4 images uploaded to the Flickr community; and let me tell you, there are some really great photos on Flickr. Some of the most incredible images I have seen.
There are also groups where people can all share ideas and images with each other based on a certain topic. The best part about Flickr is that almost all of my friends that I met on TA and left are now here. So it’s feels a lot like being back there. I will say this. I think TA had a better setup for the community with their features. I personally liked the community page, the Top 11, and the TA live. But as I have stated before, a community is nothing without the people. And since most of my TA friends have left, it has non of the fun that I once stayed up all night for. So I invite you all to join us on Flickr, it’s a great way to share photos with the world and a great place to make friends.

The weekend is upon us…

So the weekend is upon us. I am going to a friends birthday party tonight. Should be fun, but I won’t be drinking so not as fun as it could be. Problem is he lives too far away from me to be drinking. Then tomorrow I will be going riding with my brothers and my pop for the first time since my accident. I’m very stoked to be gettin back on a bike. Plus my pops bought me a new helmet so I gotta break that in too.

So my question to you is, what are YOU doing this weekend? Also since it’s already 5:00 PM here and most of Saturday is gone, what’d you do today? Are you going to be mobloggin it? You should be.

Clintus Cam is online

For some reason my router likes to switch my computers ip on me randomly when I restart it. So for the past week or so the cam has been down. I didn’t even know until someone brought it to my attention. So all you stalkers can stop throwing darts at my picture on your dart board and start watching me live again.
