A while ago I had posted about Google’s list of services and tools they offer –>Here. The one that I use most would be Gmail. It’s google’s equivilant to yahoo mail or hotmail. They currently give you like 2.6 gigs of space which is huge. Plus you are able to archive your mail and get them out of your inbox and then you can search through your mail later on. Their moto is “never throw anything away”. Of course you can set it up with outlook and do your mail through it. But the best part, and which brings me to the second half of this post, is that Google’s chat program Gtalk is embedded in the mail window and allows you to chat with people who are on Gtalk in your web browser. This is a great feature if you are on a work computer and can’t install stuff like the Gtalk messenger. Gtalk is a very simple messenger. It takes a lot of the best features from other messengers and puts them in here. For example, when you get a msg it pops up in the bottom right, but not just the first one, all of them until you open the window. You also get to put a profile pic next your name that shows up next to your name in the contacts list, as well as next to your name in chat. Another great feature, following the great Google path, you are able to save your chats and search them as well. The only thing that is special and not necceseraly a great one is you must have a gmail account to use it. So it’s good because we all know everyones email address and we can all talk using our mail window if we wanted to, but YOU MUST HAVE A GMAIL ACCOUNT. So it takes people that don’t have one, don’t want one out of the picture. How do i get one you may ask? Well you must be invited from someone who has one already, everyone gets 100 invites.
The reason for this post is basicaly tell everyone about gmail and gtalk and the usfulness of the two together. If anyone is looking for a new email address or new provider and would like an invite to gmail, comment here or email me. I have 100 to give out. There are already a number of people on gmail and gtalk waiting for you.

Google needs to come out with a mail program. I love theirs, but I’m not going to restrict myself to using JUST gmail email addresses - especially with the new website up.
