I love my job..

So I have been taking calls for a week now and I love it. Granted not all of the calls are always nice, and all most all of the calls are because the customer is having a problem with one of their services; but I love it when I can solve it over the phone. Another thing I love is the corporate environment that Cox is. I love the scheduled breaks and lunches, the amenities for us during those breaks and lunches, the whole atmosphere it self is just a great vibe. I got my schedule today and that was a relief. Next we find out what team we’re on and who are leader is. After that we get our desks and we are on our own. That’s another thing I am looking forward to, my own desk with my own computer. Did I mention I love my job? I can’t wait to get out on the floor; and you can bet there will be photos once I do.

Finished with Training

Finally. I took the last of my exams today for being a customer service rep. in Tech Support for Cox Communications. 4 weeks of intense training to learn all the telephone and video ins and outs. Then for the next two weeks we go into what’s called nesting. This is where we actually take live calls with a partner and have our instructors to help us out. Now I have no issues talking to people what so ever. How ever, when you have someone on the line with you and you’re on the spot to go right to the place you have to go, it can be a bit nerve racking. I mean, I know my shit. I got 100% on my first 2 exams today and a 97% on the third. But that’s when I have an hour to sit there and make sure I know where to go and double check my work. When someone’s on the phone with you you don’t have all the time in the world. So you can imagine what it’s going to be like. But I’m looking forward to it.

Finally fixed…

So I noticed about a month ago or so that my google ad-sense were not updating and not actually giving me ads but public service announcements. At first I thought this was just something that google was running for the hurricane victims or something. But then I checked my reports for the past few months and realized that I hadn’t had a click since April. So I started digging a bit and told my web host to try and look into it. I also emailed google about it. Both parties couldn’t really put their finger on it. Then I realized that google’s search engine hadn’t crawled my site since April 25th. That was a huge shock to me. So according to all the search engines I hadn’t updated my site since April. I was pissed. I emailed both parties again and still nothing came up on the top of their heads. So my web host went to work. A month goes by and the gentleman that is working on it emails me and says that he thinks he has found the problem but will let me know once it’s confirmed. Then today I do my daily check up by searching for my site on google and checking the cached page to see when it was grabbed. And it hits me; what is different about the page saved compared to my site now. The only thing I could think of were the plugins I added. So I do a search for posts that I mentioned plug ins and wouldn’t you know it the day posted about installing the plugins was on April 25th. APRIL 25TH!!!!! The last day google was able to cache my page. So obviously it was one of the plugins I added that was causing the blocks. Now it’s just a matter of figuring out which one.

You have no idea how much of a relief this is to figure out. I mean my hits have gone down big time these past few months. So hopefully people will start finding my site again and the traffic will starting coming back. But like I said, bare with me if things start coming and going; I’m still trying to figure out which one it is.

Testing in Progress

Bare with me folks. I am in the process of fixing some issues with google and the search engine’s bots. So things will be missing from the site here and there. As of now all the plug-ins have been removed.

UFC 61: the outcome

In one word, disapointment. I mean 2 huge matchups that end no where near where we wanted them to. First off, Ortiz vs Shamrock. Ortiz takes it in the first round due to the ref’s call. Shamrock was taking elbows from Ortiz and not defending himself so the ref stopped the fight. Now I was glad to see Ortiz win but not like that. I mean we are left with the unsatisfied hunger for another fight. With all the hype and all the build up, we were left hangin big time. Then there was the heavy-weight championship. This was the third match up between Sylvia and Arlovski and we were hoping for huge battle. It went five round with neither one ever hitting the floor. The judges gave it to Sylvia who remains the Heavy-weight champion. Then to top it off they don’t even show all nine fights. So like I said, an over all disapointing night. But they did announce UFC 62 with Liddell vs Sobral; so that’s something to look forward to.
All I have to say is, thank god we get pay per view for half price or heads would be rollin.

ROCKETBOOM ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

From Rocketboom.com:

Amanda Congdon has decided to move to L.A. to pursue opportunities that have arisen for her in Hollywood.

We wanted to meet her demands to move production out to L.A., however, we are a small company and have not been able to figure out a way to make it work, financially and in many other ways at this time. While we continue to remain with open arms, Amanda has in fact quit and left Rocketboom. So sadly, we bid Amanda adieu and wish her all the best.

Rocketboom goes on.

Andrew Baron, the founder and creator of Rocketboom, will stay with the company in New York and will continue to produce and direct the show. We are in the daunting process of recruiting a replacement for Amanda.

While Amanda will be sorely missed, we have big plans for Rocketboom and are determined to make the show better than ever.

After Field Week and a week on hiatus, we know that you are hungry for the news! Rocketboom will be back with a news episode and an interim host this MONDAY, JULY 10.

All I can say is HOLY CRAP!! You can keep up with Amanda over at her blog Amanda Unboomed.

EDIT I just read on her site that this is not all true. Instead of writing about it here you should definitely head over to Amanda’s site and read it.
