I hate it when real life gets in the way of doing what you'd like to do, following your passion. I have to agree with Cheryl (and it does pain me a little bit to say this) that it's not always about production value. It should always, always, always be story first.

Now, if you feel like what you have to say is suffering, or you don't get to explore it fully, then I wish you the best of luck in finding that balance that allows you to get back to telling your story. Because for me, there is nothing more frustrating than having that particular roadblock. Keep plugging away, it'll get back to where you want it to be.

OK, I'm not knocking "production values" but I'm here to tell you that I'm every bit as interested in your videos as I am in Mr. Smooth's (and I agree, he's awesome). I'm looking at Blip.tv's featured videos at the moment, and with the exception of Josh Leo's vlog I don't see anything I'd want to watch. So please remember not to judge yourself by what Blip.tv thinks, or by any sort of comparison to the work of others. You're doing what you can right now, and it's still interesting! You're sharing your life. Fuck "production values," they don't mean shit if you've got nothing to share. You've got plenty of goodness to share. Keep doing what you can. Try new things when you can. Make time for yourself as you can. But value yourself and what you're doing now, too. It's good stuff. Don't doubt it.
